Who carries out the roofing work
IGEN MEDIA LTD does not carry out roofing work. Surveys, quotations and the roofing itself are carried out by a separate roofing company, whose identity and company number will be given to you in writing before any agreement is made. Any contract for roofing work is between you and that company, not between you and IGEN MEDIA LTD.
The role of IGEN MEDIA LTD is to run this website and to pass your enquiry to that company. It does not survey roofs, does not issue quotations and is not a party to the work.
Enquiries and quotations
Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract and places you under no obligation. Surveys and written quotations are provided free of charge and without obligation.
Quotations are fixed for the work described in them. The only circumstance in which a fixed price changes is where something not reasonably visible at the time of survey is found once work begins - for example rot in timber that was concealed by the roof covering. Where that is a realistic possibility on your roof, the quotation will say so before you accept it.
Guide prices published on this website, including on the roof repair cost page, are indicative bands to help you assess a quotation. They are not offers and they are not quotations.
Guarantees
Work booked through this website carries a 10 year workmanship guarantee, issued in writing by the company carrying out the work and provided to you on completion. Materials carry the relevant manufacturer's own warranty, which varies by product and is confirmed for your particular job.
The workmanship guarantee covers the work carried out. It does not cover subsequent storm damage, damage caused by third parties, failure of parts of the roof not included in the work, or deterioration arising from a lack of ordinary maintenance such as clearing gutters.
Your cancellation rights
Where an agreement for work is made away from the contractor's business premises - which includes agreements made at your home - you normally have 14 days to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. If you ask for work to begin within that period and then cancel, you may be charged for what has already been done. Your cancellation rights are set out in full in the paperwork issued with the quotation.
Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, including the right to have services carried out with reasonable care and skill.

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
